I. Purpose

The Mr. Yu Lien-San Scholarship was established by Mr. Yu Lien-San, the father of Professor Mei-Kuei Yu of the Graduate Institute of Social Work, National Taiwan Normal University. The scholarship aims to encourage students to engage in academic research, participate in international exchange activities (including overseas study visits, presentations at international conferences, overseas internships, and student exchange programs), and to support students facing financial hardship.

II. Eligibility

Applicants must be currently enrolled students of the Graduate Institute of Social Work, National Taiwan Normal University.

III. Number of Awards and Award Amount

  • International Exchange Award: One award is granted annually to a student participating in an international exchange activity. The recipient will receive NT$20,000.
  • Financial Hardship Award: If there are no eligible applicants for the International Exchange Award, up to two students with demonstrated financial need may be awarded NT$10,000 each annually.

IV. Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be participating in an international exchange activity; or
  • Demonstrate financial hardship.

For applicants participating in international exchange activities, priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Overseas study visits and presentations at international conferences;
  2. Overseas internships and student exchange programs.

Applicants who have already received full financial support for the same activity from the University or other organizations are not eligible for this scholarship.

V. Application Procedure

This scholarship is offered once each year. Applicants should complete the following steps within the announced application period:

  1. Submit an online application through the Scholarship System:
    • University Administrative System → Student Affairs → Scholarship System (Student Portal)
    • Please refer to the attached guide for detailed instructions on the online application process.
  2. Upload all required application documents to your personal cloud storage folder and send an email containing the shared folder link to the Graduate Institute Office.
    • Hard copies are not required.

Students wishing to apply for this scholarship are kindly requested to complete both application procedures within the designated application period.
