What if menstruation were more than a personal matter, but a social issue we could change through advocacy? Where would we begin?
The Garden of Hope Foundation has long been committed to empowering girls and advancing gender equality. Through the Asian Girls Campaign (AGC), we connect young women across Asia and support them in turning their concerns about social issues into meaningful action.
This October, we are bringing together 10 young women from different Asian countries in Taiwan for a week of learning, exchange, and action. Selected activities are also open to young people in Taiwan who are interested in Gender × Sustainability × Advocacy × International Affairs.
We warmly invite you to join our “The Red House Period Museum Visit × Youth Advocacy Workshop.” During this special afternoon, we will visit The Red House Period Museum in Taipei for an English-guided tour exploring period equity, period poverty, and menstrual stigma. You will then work alongside young leaders from across Asia to take on a hands-on advocacy challenge!
The workshop will be facilitated by Han-Hsin Cheng, Advocacy Director of With Red. Participants will work in groups on different topics, such as period-friendly workplaces, menstrual education, and menstruation & the environment.
Each group will identify its target audience and key stakeholders, explore what matters to different audiences and how best to reach them, and develop a campaign strategy with messages that can inspire action.
This is more than an opportunity to learn about menstruation and period equity. It is also a chance to practice how to make your voice heard and turn your ideas into action.
